On July 1-2, the Civic Education Lecturers Association (CELA) organized the Third International Scientific Conference on the Civic Education and Practices of Democracy in Post-Soviet Countries at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
The conference was divided into four thematic panels: practices and challenges of civic education; power, citizenship and formation of identity; good governance and citizen participation, democracy and state building. Researchers and scientist from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Poland, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia presented their papers on various aspects of civic education.
Simultaneous translation was provided in Georgian, Russian and English languages.
The conference was held the third consecutive year with the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the framework of the Strengthening Electoral Processes in Georgia project implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
