The mission of CELA is to raise civic consciousness and encourage citizen participation in Georgia; strengthen and institutionalize civic education; and contributes to the development of civic education initiatives and learning centers in the country.
In order to implement its mission, CELA has been supporting the professional development of active and educated Georgian citizens and is currently operating in all Georgian university towns and cities.
CELA promotes the improvement of quality of the civic education course contents, interactive teaching methods, and professional development of civic educators.
In order to raise civic consciousness and increase civic participation in Georgia, CELA has been implementing a number of initiatives that, among others, include research on civic education, non-for-profit publishing, and translation projects.
