On December 9, IFES and CELA have announced the winner of the Democracy Champion Award at the students' V scientific conference. The winner was Arina Tavakarashvili, who through her work supports the spread and development of democratic values such as equality, tolerance, diversity and human rights in Georgia.
Arina is a teacher at the school and the lecturer at the university. She reads the course "Democracy and Citizenship" at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Teaching University. However, in addition to pedagogic work, Arina tries to promote democratic values in other ways. She is an active member of several non-governmental organizations and very active member of society. Arina constantly tries to promote citizens’ education and to support their rights in the border villages of Gori.
