Students’ Fifth Scientific Conference was held in TSU

On December 9 with the cooperation of the Civic Education Lecturers Association and Human Rights Academy of the Public defender Students’ Fifth Scientific Conference on “Transformation of Values in Georgia” was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

Students from different Georgian universities participated in the conference. Most of the participants were the graduates of the Democracy and Citizenship university course.

The students’ conference covered topics, such as challenges in the field of civic activism, ethnic minorities and the problem of their integration in Georgia, the formation of the democratic society, drug policy, the issue of financing religious organizations, propaganda, an influence of fake news and myths on Georgian politics, issues of patriotism and nationalism, homophobia, discrimination and etc. 

At the end of the conference, participants were awarded the certificates.

The event was made possible with the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the framework of the project Strengthening Electoral Processes (SEP), implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
