Call for Abstracts for the Fifth Student Scientific Conference “Transformation of Values in Georgia”
By the financial support of IFES, the Civic Education Lecturers Association (CELA) with the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Human Rights Academy of the Public defender invites the submission of abstracts for the fifth student scientific conference on
Transformation of Values in Georgia
The conference is open to all students, particularly, those who have been studying a civic education course on Democracy and Citizenship.
The main topics of the conference:
- Civic Education and its teaching methods;
- The ways of civic engagement: from voting to public activity;
- Minorities: Integration or Segmentation;
- Ideologies and their perception;
- Nationalism, Patriotism and their perception;
- The concept of “Open Government” - Limiting the Government;
- Accountability and Transparency;
- Social Capital;
- The Role of Traditional and Social Media.
- Other.
In order to be considered, please submit your application form with abstract to the following email: info@cela.ge by December 1, 2017. In the subject line of the e-mail, please put “Civic Activism in Georgia”.
Late submissions will not be considered.
The working language of the students’ scientific conference will be Georgian.
The abstract (300-500 words) should be sent in Microsoft Word format.
The authors of the selected abstracts will be notified by December 5, 2017.
The conference will be held on December 9, 2017.
Travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed for the representatives of regional universities.
