Today, on September 30, in Caucasian House the Civic Education Lecturers Association and the rectors of 4 universities in Georgia signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
According to the agreement, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia, Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Teaching University, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, State University of Physical Education and Sport of Georgia undertook an obligation to involve “Democracy and Citizenship” university course in their curriculums. For its part, CELA will take care of retraining of the civic education lecturers, preparing training materials and involving students in different activities.
The event was held by the Civic Education Lecturers Association and implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), made possible with the support of USAID in the framework of the project Strengthening Electoral Processes (SEP).
