On March 16, 2015, the Civic Education Lecturers Association organized a discussion on the Role of the Youth in Conflict Resolution at Sokhumi State University.
Giorgi Kanashvili, executive director of Caucasian House and Eliko Bendeliani, member of the IDP network SINERGIA, participated in the discussion, since they have experience in the process of dialogue with the Abkhazians, Ossetians and Russians.
The discussion attempted to provide information about lives of the Abkhazians and Ossetians in the conflict regions, types of contact between Georgian and people from the occupied territories, prospects and ways that would make it possible to build up relations between them.
The Guests also spoke about the role of the youth in conflict resolution and emphasized the importance of different exchange programs and strengthening social communication. They also analyzed state politics in conflict resolution, implemented by the current and former governments of Georgia, steps taken in regard of these politics and their outcomes.
