Discussion on Public Sector, Nepotism and Social Control

With the financial support of USAID in the framework of the project - Strengthening Electoral Processes (SEP), implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), the Civic Education Lecturers Association continues series of discussions “Dialogues on Democracy”, that aim to raise students’ awareness and create a space for discussions.

The 8th discussion held on June 13, 2015 at Batumi Shota Rustaveli University was entitled “Public Sector, Nepotism and Social Control”. It was lead by Malkhaz Chkadua, Batumi Office Manager of Transparency International Georgia.

Mr. Chkadua spoke about main challenges facing public sector in Georgia, including urgency of amelioration of current legislation and issues of conducting transparent service selection procedures.

The discussion was attended by students and professors of Batumi Shota Rustaveli University and Batumi State Maritime Academy, as well as CELA members.
