Students of Zugdidi State Teaching University implemented the project "Becoming an Active Citizen in the Community".

Within the framework of "Civil Engagement School 2023", the students of Shota Meskhia state teaching university of Zugdidi: Magi Fifia, Ika Bokhua, and Dimitri Dzimtseishvili successfully implemented the project "Become an active citizen in your own community"

Within the framework of the project, trainings were organized by the authors and the following issues were discussed: characteristics of civil society and active citizens, functions and powers of local self-government, mechanisms of citizens' involvement in local self-government, etc.

Trainings were conducted by:

Mariam Sichinava - civil activist;

Archil Todua - regional coordinator of the ‘’Transparency International Georgia’’.

As part of one of the activities, the project participants visited the Zugdidi Municipality Council. This meeting was conducted by Bela Mosia-chairman of the legal, mandate and human rights protection commission of the Zugdidi municipality council.

Each meeting was held in an active question-answer and discussion mode. Participants discussed local examples, which helped them better analyze the theoretical material.
