Implementation of action projects continues in Gori

Nowadays, schoolchildren need to know about active citizenship, rights, and responsibilities, which will help them to become active citizens. The aim of the action project of the participants of the ‘’Civic Engagement School 2021’’ project: ‘’the role of an active citizen in the process of democratic development of the country’’. The project is implemented by Tbilisi State University student Nino Gokhelashvili and Gori State Teaching University students Mariam Pavliashvili, Zhana Inauri, and Zurab Macharashvili.

To achieve the goal of the project the authors conducted training with pupils at the public school in the village of Aghaiani, Kaspi municipality. Training included theoretical and practical tasks, the project participants discussed the development of citizenship, types of citizenship, rights, and responsibilities of an active citizen.

In the first part of the training, Nino Gokhelashvili reviewed the concept of the citizen and the stages of development, which was accompanied by the activity ‘’separation of citizens’ rights and duties’’.

In the second part of the training, Zurab Macharashvili discussed the types of citizenship, which was accompanied by the activity ‘’historical role play’’.

In the third part of the training, Mariam Pavliashvili discussed the essence and role of active citizens in the process of democratic development of the country, which was accompanied by the activity ‘’remembering a person from world history who associated with an active citizen’’.

The training was conducted in an active question-and-answer mode. Each participant was awarded a certificate.
