The implementation of the project ‘’Joint Initiative against Radicalization and Violent Extremism’’ has entered the active phase

The implementation of the project ‘’Joint Initiative against Radicalization and Violent Extremism’’ has entered the active phase. The project’s aim is to promote the prevention of violent extremism and radicalization in the communities of Tbilisi, Shida Kartli, Adjara, and Guria regions.

The project involves 55 civic education teachers, 3366 schoolchildren, and 55 students from four regions of Georgia (Tbilisi, Shida Kartli, Guria, and Adjara). Civic education teachers and students received training in the prevention of radicalization and violent extremism, promotion of peaceful coexistence.

As a part of the collaboration, civic education teachers and students have already submitted project proposals, the stage of active implementation of their project proposals has already started.

20 teachers and 20 students are involved in the project from Tbilisi. Each student visited the school as a part of the project proposal preparation. Civic education teachers, students, and schoolchildren worked on the project proposal stage. Here are photos of their cooperation and joint work.

The project is implemented within the partnership of Civic Education Lecturers Association, the Civic Education Teachers Forum, and the Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD) with the financial support of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Norway, within the framework of the project-‘’Development of Georgia’s Capacities for the Prevention of Violent Extremism and Radicalization’’.
