''Civic Engagement School 2021'' was launched in Kutaisi

On April 3-4 Within the framework of the project ‘’Civic Engagement School 2021’’, a two-day training was held at Kutaisi University. The training was led by Tamar Karaia-Executive Director of Civic Education Lecturers Association, professor of TSU and Kakhaber Uriadmkopheli-doctor of law, professor of Georgian American University, member of the Board of Directors of CELA.

The main purpose of the pieces of training was to equip participants with the skills needed to implement advocacy campaigns and action projects.

On the first day of the training, Kakhaber Uriadmkopheli introduced students to the advocacy strategies and peculiarities of civil society, the role of social activism, and social change in the development of society.

The second day of the training was led by Tamar Karaia. She introduced students to the purpose of ‘’Civic Engagement School 2021’’, the cycle of action project implementation and factors to be considered during project implementation. Within the practical work, students presented project proposals on a social problem of interest to them.

On the second day of the training course, members of the ‘’Civic Engagement School 2020’’: Maia Mushkudiani, Ana Nikabadze, and Mari Ionanidze shared their experience with the current participants.

‘’Civic Engagement School 2021’’ is implemented with the financial support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung South Caucasus Regional Office.
