The project was conducted by the Civic Education Lecturers Association (CELA). It aimed to implement some initial activities in order to promote organizational development of CELA. In particular, raise publicity of the association, improve qualification of professors, accumulate training materials prepared by the professors and share them with the association members, as well as, share academic and professional experience among the organization members.
Within the framework of the project, the memorandum between CELA and 22 Georgian universities, where the university course "Citizenship and Democracy" is taught, was signed at Courtyard Marriott.
There was a scientific conference also held there. Later, presented papers were published. An official web-site of the association - www.cela.ge was launched, where information about CELA’s activities are published regularly.
The project was made possible with the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the framework of the project Increased Trust in Electoral Processes (ITEP), implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
