On April 3-4 Within the framework of the project ‘’Civic Engagement School 2021’’, a two-day training was held at Gori State Teaching University. The training was led by Levan Khutshishvili, the founder of ‘’Gergart’’, visiting lecturer at TSU, a researcher at the Institute of Political Science, Ilia State University, and Keti Murusidze-Monitoring, Evaluation and Training (MEL) specialist.
The main purpose of the pieces of training was to develop the skills needed for advocacy, civic campaigning, and action project implementation.
The first day of the training course was led by Levan Khutsishvili who introduced the students to the characteristics of an active citizen and the strategies of advocacy. As a part of the group work, the training participants worked on strategies for identifying and advocating for current issues in the community. The participants of Civic Engagement School 2020: Khatia Khabashvli and Mariam Masurashvili were also invited to the training. They shared their experiences with current project participants.
The second day of the training course was led by Keti Murusidze. She introduced project participants to the project management cycle and principles. Each training session included practical group tasks. Participants identified ways to implement action projects based on the identification of current social problems.
