''Civic Engagement School 2021'' was launched in Zugdidi

 

‘’Civic Engagement School 2021’’ implementation has started. On March 27-28, a two-day training was held at Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State Teaching University. The training was led by Tamar Karaia, Executive Director of Civic Education Lecturers Association, Professor of TSU, and Levan Khutsishvili, the founder of ‘’Gergart’’, visiting lecturer at TSU, and researcher at the Institute of Political Science, Ilia State University.

At the beginning of the training course, Tamar Karaia and Lasha Narsia, Project Coordinator in Zugdidi and professor of Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State Teaching University, introduced participants to the aim and concept of the project.

The first day of the training was led by Levan Khutsishvili, who discussed the essence of civic activism, the characteristics of the active citizen, the theory of change, and advocacy campaigns. Each panel of the training included practical exercises. 

The second day of the training, led by Tamar Karaia, was more practical. Participants were divided into several groups and worked on strategies for implementing action projects.  The participants of ''Civic Engagement School 2020'': Ana Gabelia, Tamta Ablotia, and Irakli Beraia were also invited to the training. They shared their experiences with current project participants.

‘’Civic Engagement School 2021’’ is implemented with the financial support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung South Caucasus Regional Office.
